The project “ Meet, understand, transform : a dynamic portrait of Ana Dias Region” was presented to the school community. Presentation, meetings and activities held during February and March aroused enthusiasm among all members, receiving whole approval and compliments.

The theme that heads the project emphasizes the concept of sustainable development and this is the reason why we chose the Juréia Region, in the Ribeira River Valley (São Paulo State). Field studies and researches will be developed in the Ana Dias Region, a settlement located in Itariri County, in the Juréia Region.

This pedagogical experience will offer our students a learning opportunity through an interaction between the environment and the local community. At the end of this project, we hope to be able to construct and environmental and educational project, bringing benefits to that community.

By this way, we also intend to prepare our students to be moved on and be up to develop actions, through the analysis of emergent situations that society and globalized world live today.  Conscious and capacitated, they will be able to exercise their active citizenship in order to interfere into a real situation, and thus transforming it.

These proposed objectives in mind, co-ordinators and mentoring teachers set up a planning of phases and activities to be developed, some of them already realized, as follows.

It is very likely that, in spite of a planning, some groups may come upon unforeseen situations. These may lead to different ways and alternative opened to different proposals to the subject under study.
